How to publish & feature a blog post in Kentico
- Log in to Kentico.
- Navigate to News & Calendar > News & Updates
- Open the appropriate Year folder, and right-click on the appropriate Month folder and select New > BRA - News Day
- Type in the day (i.e. 07) in the "Document name:" field
- Click Save, Submit for approval, and Publish
- Right-click on the Day folder you just created, and select New > BRA - News
- Paste the news headline into the Document name: and Title: fields
- Upload an image (dimensions should be at least 536 px x 485 px - see next step) from your desktop or other location to Small Teaser image:
- Upload the same image to Big Teaser Image:
- Click the pencil icon to the right of Big Teaser Image:
- In the Edit image popup that appears, select the radio button to the left of "By absolute size"
- For landscape-oriented images, enter 485 in the Height field and click the green "OK" button
- Click on the "Crop" section, and enter 536 in the Width field and 485 in the Height field
- Adjust crop as necessary, then click the green "OK" button
- Click the green "Save changes" button at the bottom of the "Edit image" popup
- Paste in Teaser Text if applicable
- Place your cursor inside the Main Content box, and then click the Paste from Word button in the WYSIWYG editor at the top of the form
- Paste your news content into the "Paste" popup box that appears, and then click the green "OK" button
- Test any links by clicking inside any of the links in the Main Content, then selecting the Insert/Edit Link button
- Fill in the News Date:
- Click the Save button at the top left of the form
- If applicable, add any Relationships by clicking Add related document. Neighborhoods and Planning Initiatives can be added here.
- Click Save again
- Go to the Properties tab, and then click on Categories
- Click the blue Add categories button
- Open BRA - News Category and select applicable categories
- Click the green OK button
- Go back to the Form tab, and Save, Submit for approval, and Publish
To Feature the blog post
- Click on the "News & Updates" page
- In the Form tab, click on the blue "Select" button to the right of the "Featured News:" field
- In the popup that appears, navigate to your news item, and click on the title to select it
- Make sure that the correct news item appears in the "URL:" field
- Click the green "Select" button
- Click Save, Submit for approval, and Publish
